WHAT IS THE SHIFT?

Our passion for revitalizing plateaued and declining churches runs deep.

Too many church leaders focus on growth and assume health. The essence of The Shift process is all about reversing that paradigm. We want to focus on health and assume growth will be birthed from a place of health. However, it is not just about becoming healthy. Weeds are healthy and grow, rather quickly, and often choke out other areas of health and growth. It’s about becoming healthy in the right areas. In other words, being healthy in the wrong areas is synonymous with distraction.

The Shift process is all about establishing a fresh focus on what is truly important. It removes distraction by asking three basic, but powerful, biblical questions. It then works at the most fundamental levels to bring about health to the organization by aligning the church around the answers to these three questions.

WHO ARE WE?

There is a difference in serving and becoming a servant.

You spend your lives caring for the lost and hopeless. We spend our lives caring for you. As passionate as you are about sharing the gospel, we are passionate about helping you do that!

There is a difference in simply serving and truly becoming a servant. We desire to do more than simply serve you with our talents. We desire to truly become your servant. That means we serve on your terms, not ours. It means your mission becomes our mission. It means if you don't succeed, then we don't succeed.

Who are we? We are servants.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We revitalize plateaued and declining churches into healthy growing faith communities.

Research indicates that 94% of all churches in the United States are either plateaued, declining, or not growing fast enough to keep up with the population growth of their community. Unfortunately, we are no longer a churched culture, or even a Christian nation. And it's only getting worse.

But here's the good news: God wants your church to be healthy. He wants your church to grow; more than you do actually. And he has strategically positioned and called The Shift to help you do that. While we work with many church plants, our main focus is revitalizing plateaued and declining churches and turning them into healthy, growing faith communities.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

The local church is the hope of the world.

Bill Hybels said it well:

“The local Church is the hope of the world. There is nothing like the local church when it’s working right. Its beauty is indescribable. Its power is breathtaking. Its potential is unlimited. It comforts the grieving and heals the broken in the context of community. It builds bridges to seekers and offers truth to the confused. It provides resources for those in need and opens its arms to the forgotten, the downtrodden, the disillusioned. It breaks the chains of addiction, frees the oppressed, and offers belonging to the marginalized of this world. Whatever the capacity for human suffering, the church has a greater capacity for healing and wholeness.”
